Wiwa, you'll need a phono stage between your Technics turntable and your UQ2. What cartridge do you have on the Technics? There are a number of pretty decent budget phono stages that you can buy secondhand fort not much money, which should be fine to use with the Technics from the likes of Rega, Creek, Cambridge, Project etc.. Also don't ignore the old QED Discsaver, available for peanuts secondhand, which could be run with batteries and actually performed really well.
