nac 202 +ndx or nac 272

I thought NDX/202 was clearly better than a 272. In fact, I thought NDX/202/200DR was better than 272/250DR, despite the superiority of the latter power amp. You need an XPS on the 272 to make it a contender. Having said that, your speakers may be more demanding than mine, so maybe the 250 would be a higher priority for you?

That sounds exciting?!?

I would ask a different question: do you want only few boxes (in that case N272 is a good solution) or if you don't mind few more black boxes (in that case a separate streamer and a pre will be avisable due to upgrade flexibility).

You have to decide based on audition and how much you wish to spend and perhaps what your future plans might be with regard to upgrading - a separate pre would give you more flexibility.  But in my opinion an XPS is very highly recommended on both the NDX and 272.

Agree with Adam how many boxes do you want/need suggest a discussion with your dealer and demo's as required also bear in mind the more boxes the greater the cost of getting the best out of them ie Power Lines , Equipment Rack better cables etc etc

272 is a better value as well....  i changed my 200s + ND5xs for 272....

202/NDX will sound better and provides easier upgrade path. 

Emre - value is a personal judgement.

Keep your preamp and upgrade to NDX, or just add nDAC.

What you have is already better than 272 .

I worked my way up from Uniti/200 to ND5/282/HC/250 to NDX/252/SCDR/250DR. Great leaps forward every time. Where I'm at is magical.

272/XPSDR/250DR has many respected admirers, and one less box.

So: (i) decide on your budget; (ii) check where you might want to end up in a few years' time and (iii) bear in mind the box count; (iv) audition if you can. Both your suggestions have lots of good points.

That's my point - what represents value is a judgement but the cheapest is absolute.

If it's about boxes or wfm..then it must be a Unitilite..or... even a UQ...right..????

So true...after Thursday...combos like 272/250DR e.t.c. will be soooo obsolete and feel soooo 2015. Who remembers them...???  

Than you all for sharing your knowledges and experience, i ve read with interes all opinions but decision is mine, I ve ordered ndx...later i will go with 282/250, but later . Hope tuesday naim will not blow the hi fi world.
