Hi ... I'm new to the forums so apologies if this topic is else where that I haven't found it yet.
I upgraded my NDX to 4.4 firmware this weekend and the IOS app to 4.9. Having done so the Volume control disappeared from the IOS app. I went looked for the "show volume control" menu selection that I had previously ticked to enable volume control ( as per previous versions of the IOS app) and it is no longer showing as an option ??
anyone also seen this / been able to resolve ?
Cheers
Steve

Hi Steve, welcome to the forum, its a fun place to learn about Naim, all things audio (& AV) & even other none-naim stuff. I have NDX / Supernait (1) & am all up to date with soft/firmware. My volume control is still OK. But obvious with yours that somethings changed. Have you checked (ticked) both the "Show Volume Control" & "Bottom Bar Volume Control". I would try a delete & re-install of the app & then its a question of searching for whatever is missing/changed. Then I think you need to look into the SN & NDX automation RC5 volume settings, including maybe a disturbed RC5 cable,

Thanks Mike and Chris
As mentioned ... the tick box to "show Volume" is no longer appearing as an option in my 4.9 IOS app to be able to tick it (which I find a bit odd but is perhaps because system automation doesn't think I have a Naim amp I can control ?)
I'll investigate the system automation angle - last thing yesterday I think noticed auto switching had stopped working between the SN2 and the NDX so that thought makes sense. The control cable for system automation was plugged in but i'll reset everything this evening when I get home and see what happens
thanks for the help
Cheers

Just a quick post to say thanks .... System Automation was reset by the 4.4 NDX firmware upgrade for some reason. Turned it back on and all working as expected
Cheers for the help

Thanks steve. always nice to know how a problem does get fixed. The mystery for me is how come it did reset automation, I'm on the firmware beta team & done more updates on my NDX than most, but its never happened to me (so far)

Hi Mike,
yes agreed - i did the upgrade in place in my system ( nothing to remove / move to run the update ) so everything was "as is" to the best of my knowledge, and I didn't see this "complication" when i previously upgraded the NDX to 4.3 firmware ... I also had to rename a couple of the outputs post the install ... its as if the NDX installed 4.4 and then did a factory reset
Cheers

Naim recommend doing a factory reset after upgrading the firmware. Mostly I find that firmware upgrades don't reset the streamer even if the streamer display claims to be doing that, but perhaps sometimes it does succeed. Anyway it's good to know you sorted it.
