Import Superuniti

Posted by: Chico on 07 October 2016

Good evening Naim friends.

Things went pretty quick, sold my qute/nap100 combo.. Now looking for a Superuniti.

Would there be any problems with importing a Superuniti from England to Holland ?

No problems with voltages or something ? Guess you need another mains cable.. but thats no

big deal.

Enjoy your evening, thanks in advance for the replies. Arno

Shipping a Superuniti across the channel in a cardboard box, it is bound to arrive broken. Only a Statement in its sturdy packing case could survive such a journey.

Seriously, I'm sure it will work fine with the right plug fitted.

Sounds like a plan.

No problems - same voltage. Just get a EU PowerLine from the NL.

I recently bought a pre-loved 555PS from the UK. The dealer was kind enough to supply an EU chord.

Thanks guys. The Superuniti is my hifi dream (well the kind of dream i can just afford)

Guess with the new unitis prices for secondhand Superunitis will go down in the near months.

After seeing the new line-up for now i think i like the "old" classic line better, for me it has a

more distinctive look, but that might change, and the whole upgrade circus starts again

With the weak pound, it's a good time to buy one. You'll find dealers reducing prices on the exdem models, so it's a win-win situation. Just take off the uk plug and put a new one on.

There are potential issues; You likely won't get any installation by the retailer and any warranty is with your supplying dealer and the Naim factory. If you buy outside your territory then your local distributor has no responsibility for any problems that may arise.  You would need to deal with the supplying retailer from afar.

Those are issues to reckon with Richard, thanks for the info.

Holland is not that 'afar' though, probably nearer to Salisbury than northern Scotland. An EasyJet flight costs virtually nothing and takes hardly any time at all. I'm sure Chico can buy one in the U.K. in total confidence, and it would cost 4% less today than yesterday.

And ofcourse i've got some good faith in the brand  sure it won't break down..

How do you think that all other SuperUniti's were sent to Holland? Probably in the same cardboard box ...

That cardboard box must be a bit worn out by now.

Hi!

Go ahed! I´ve received a lot of my naim equipments from UK, and with the pound a little more weak you can find good deals, and if you could wait a little more with the introduction of this new series you might have more unitis on the market.
