Naim dual banana plug ...help
Posted by: Anto68 on 23 October 2016
Hi all, I would like to know how I can build a correctly terminat with Naim dual banana plug my Tellurium Q Black. I can not weld it at home so there are more simple option for do that?
That seem not weld in

This image shows the correct way but I haven't a welder at home

The Naim Speaker connectors need to have the cable soldered - If you can't solder yourself then a dealer near you, or even an electrician should be able to help.
Thank's Richard,
I wanted to use the Naim speaker connectors also because I have discovered a problem in one of the tellurium cable, I think it's the black (negative) that goes to the left speaker and I'm sure it is unsoldered to the end near the gold banana plug. The tellurium still under warranty and it's a shame because I did not keep the original box to send them back to England from Italy.
Any suggestions to solve the problem please, if I send back the cables I have to buy some cheap cables to wait for the replacement![]()
I bought a cheap, ordinary Weller soldering iron, watched a few U-Tube videos, read this: https://forums.naimaudio.com/to...-andamp-f-connection
...and after a bit of practice on some offcuts, I reckon I can do a reasonable job of soldering on banana plugs. Give it a go, or find somebody else who can.
You'll have a real battle trying so solder any of the TQ cables due to their makeup.
Did you get the cables from a dealer? If so, can you take them back and get a loan set? Or if they are still under warranty, can you just get them replaced?
Maybe email Geoff at TQ and see what he suggests.
Anto, it'a probably a question best answered by Tellurium or their local distributor.
Hey Finkfan, how are you![]()
I remember it was you who made me discover these wonderful cables. I'll explain my problem, moving even slightly the end of the left cable close to the speaker plug there is no connection sound or go on and off, of course if I do not move it the music flows without problem.
You advise me to not solder the tellurium, you think I could buy a pair of good banana plug to modify them?
like that for example

Tellurium stripped wire cable are adaptable?

Its so far from me, 500 km ,I would like to avoid sending it back, if I can solve in a different way . In Italy there is only one dealer of Tellurium
Hi [@mention:45493054099275175]. I'm good thank you. Hope you are too? The only real way of fixing the problem is through your distributor or dealer or getting in touch with TQ direct. They are extremely helpful and will get back to you very quickly. My dealer told me that due to the composition of the cables they are extremely difficult to strip and solder. There is a coating over the wire that has to be removed which isn't easy. I'd advise the same as Richard, get in touch with Tellurium Q. They are the best people to speak to about their cables.
I've noticed that there is a coating hard to be removed. I'll try to contact my dealer this will mean that I'll keep without music many weeks. Damn.
Thank you
regards
If that connector is to be plugged into the Naim box, I suspect the direction of the cable might be wrong.
No, the problem is found by moving the end of the cable to the speaker, I made many test reversing the cable to find out where the problem was. I think bad connection the wire to the banana terminal
Moving close the "Q". in the picture

If the cables are faulty, get your dealer to supply a set that are properly made, under warranty. When they arrive send the others back. The tellurium wires and plugs are designed to work together - do not mess about with them.

I just wrote an email to the dealer that is in Pescara, 500 km from Milano and I hope that happens what you say HH.
Maybe it happen in England![]()
Thank you HH
I have a bad habit, which to throw the boxes of the products that will hopefully have no faulty being expensive. I just kept the box of the Superuniti because it reminds me of the great moments of joy
Don't worry about the boxes. Your dealer has a responsibility to resolve this for you. They should supply a new set.

Are those the actual cables? If they are, they seem much too short, or are they jumper cables?
No, no it is a photo from the web to show the critical point. My cable is 2.5m

what HH wrote came true, yesterday I sent an email to my dealer explaining in detail the problem and today I received a surprising answer : a new product will be shipped tomorrow and instructions to return the faulty cables.
Unbelieveble, I never imagined such a superb service
Replacement set on its way....excellent news [@mention:45493054099275175]!
Buonissimo! That is what I would expect, and it's great to hear an example of good customer service from the Tellurium people. This means that should be without music for only about 10 minutes while you swap the cables, which is much better than a month.
