Nap 250 back from service query (not sure I'm happy with the dealer)

Posted by: Jamesie on 29 October 2016

hi all , I have just picked up my Nap 250 back from service from Salisbury , upon getting home and looking at the job sheet it appears that ,

A , I have had my full service.

B , parts used show a box and labels with all internal packaging.

i did NOT have the unit returned with any packaging at all , even though it appears this is paid for in with the cost of my service , I phoned the dealer and they said, as I didn't take it in to them in a box and they put it in a box to send it away ,it was returned by naim in a new box buy THEY (the dealership) have kept my box , this is an authorised dealer that I was told to take it to by Naim, there was no mention that I had to package it at all as this is an authorised dealer, I was of the understanding that this is all part of the dealerships service that they provide in return for the priveledge of being chosen as an authorised dealership .

the parts listed that I have not been given are as follows,,,,,,,,, 2 x end cap foam reference ,,,,,1 x inner wrap large carton reference ,,,,,1 x large carton printed reference ,,,,,,1 x label blank 73 x 174 white ,   1 x silica gel sachet.

does this seem right to any of you , surely as it is all listed on my job sheet and I have paid for it all shouldn't I have been given my amp back with these items? ,,,,what right has the dealer got to take any of this away from me , in fact what right does the dealer have to open the box that is being returned to me by Naim , they are just a middle man as a point of contact for collection and returns. Should I give Salisbury a call and express my concerns?

More Box jokes. What have I just said!

Well I suppose this thread is doomed to remain in the wilderness that is The Padded Cell if you lot can't take things seriously. You could say this thread has become boxed in, never to be read again.

I'll sign off now as I suspect no one is reading this.

Ho hum….

Box update.....ive just had all my boxes returned from Naim after having them upgraded to the d'red.box...

Anybody know how long they will take to burn in?

I mean my empty boxes?  Not the actual black boxes?

I think you could speed up the burn-in on Guy Fawkes' night (5 Nov) (Not sure this joke works outside the UK.)

Why not? One of the Naim staff could also cook you a four course dinner as well.

Bloody hell, that is good value for money.  Does that come in a box too?

No it's a shrink wrapped microwave job.

But if you haven't got a microwave handy, you can use an ordinary oven. They won't want to box you in.

That's crap, I demand my money back, if I ever pay it, or a box, and I don't want any sprouts either unless they are DRd

It seems there is life in the Padded Cell after all.

And there's me thinking this thread would be carried out in a wooden box!

Oops, sorry, another box quip.

I've just been having a box count,  I realise I have 6 empty naim boxes, at £170.00 each,  what to do? Sell them and have a black box  upgrade?  Definitely alter my will, didn't realise I was so well off.......

You should send one to Naim so that they don't have to shrink wrap my bloody tea!

It's a Kentucky family bucket nothing in boxes anymore.

Must be a balti then!  (Balti can be translated as bucket - it's actually a type of kharai.)

They'll be black when you've burned them in. Probably explains why the OP didn't have a box to pack his amp in.

In an effort to address such issues and increase customer satisfaction, Naim has put an expert in charge of shipping and returns...the official Naim Box Turtle.

And some of you thought this was getting silly...
