Superuniti powercord Essential Audio Tools Current Conductor

Posted by: Chico on 05 November 2016

Good evening.

After initially being a bit dissapointed with my new pre-loved Superuniti today i fiddeld around and put the cable 180 degrees turned into the mains socket.. this changed a lot for the better so listend to nice music the rest of the day.

Now still thinking to buy a better than the factory supplied powercord.. Powerline is out of budget, so i was looking at the "Essential Audio Tools Current Conductor" has any of you some experiences with that one ? Ofcourse the guy at the hifi shop was raving about it, also read some good reviews.. but better hear advice from the forum.

greetings from Holland

I checked your profile and saw the speaker cable. What is it? Looks like a small cable, not like the naca5  / k20 etc cables.

Are the cabled soldered and are you using the Naim plugs to connect the speaker cable?

Are the speaker cables phased correctly?

Ardberg10y: It's Siltech New York, fitted with banana plugs.. so it can't get phased wrong i think ? or am i wrong..

Naim are about to release a 'Powerline Lite' which will be much cheaper than the current version. Not sure if there will be a Euro version, or if it will be any good, but maybe worth considering.

Thanks for the reply ChrisSU.

Yes i've been reading about that Powerline lite, if i'm correct it'll be the standard cable to come

with the new Unitis. Worth the wait, and also for me the smart thing to do because funds are low right now

The Essential Audio Tools Current Conductor  i was looking at cost around 100 pounds, so not very expensive.. i've had higher tabs in the pub i guess

Just stick with a standard cable untill you can afford a PowerLine. Just get those speaker cables sorted first.... NACA5 is not expensive and can be bought used too.
