Cable 250 to SC

Posted by: nickpeacock on 11 November 2016

I've just bought a Witch Hat Servicing cable to go between my 250DR and SCDR. HH and others have spoken well of them. Now I know why - a very good value upgrade in my view.

(Interestingly the first thing I noticed was that the image is completely centred with the 252 balance dial at 12 o'clock; I won't bore you with the details but I'd always had to play a bit with the balance before. No need now.)

Anyway, I would wax lyrical at greater length, but I'm listening to Leonard Cohen for a while.

Nick,

Im not disputing that changing a cable can improve performance but if you're seriously trying to tell me that the standard Naim XLR provided with the 250 provides for an off- balance sound well not in my experience - sorry to be blunt but I don't believe it.

Regards,

Lindsay

It was the vocals that seemed a little offset to the left. Maybe I hadn't connected it properly. Academic now.

The WH is definitely an improvement on the stock DIN/XLR and represents great value IMO.

Glad you are enjoying it Nick.

With apologies for my post I've no doubt that tHe WH makes an improvement.

Oh hey, no offence was taken. I'll try the naim one again this weekend and see if it reproduces what I heard.

I've used witch hat cables throughout my system for some time now including Ndx to 202, rca from turntable to  stageline and hicap to 200. Very happy with performance and form factor (well made and easier to dress than stock cables)
