Got that email too

Haha. I can't make out the ends on it Adam. What are they? I'm not streaming yet!

Looks like custom designed natwork plugs (rj45). That's how streaming cables look like.

Chord for example, make something similar.

They look like Telegartner Cat6A,   but as usual I don't suppose we will get much info from TQ.

Posted on: 11 November 2016 by hungryhalibut

They look like Telegartners to me, with a bit of fancy plastic around the connection. At £780 per metre they make my Vodkas seem a veritable bargain.

I wonder how long it will be till Naim introduce SL streaming cables.... There is clearly a market.

Posted on: 11 November 2016 by Finkfan

Yeah, maybe Naim will focus more on developing more SL cables rather than Lite ones?

Shame the brains behind TQ isn't there anymore. That's why they are now peddling this sort of crap.

That sounds a bit harsh, young James. The AudioQuest Ethernet cables are excellent, and Chord and Vertere, amongst others, make well respected ones too. I cannot blame Tellurium from trying to get a slice of the action, and cash, particularly from those with existing Tellurium wires.

Greekspec will buy them and test them for us

780 per metre is again is out of this world.

arent they just putting together third party parts and shield the cable and thats about it?

İ understand a premimium over but....

As HH says, it's game on for expensive Ethernet cables it seems.

I own AQ Cinnamon, normally used from Wall socket to NDS and currently sitting between Unitiserve and switch while I trial AQ Vodka on the NDS and Chord C-Stream's on the 2 NAS's.

Vodka clearly better than Cinnamon on the NDS  (if perhaps a little sharp sounding?) and Cinnamon clearly miles better than standard a Patch cable on the US.

But, leaving aside which is better and by how much, the point is that different Ethernet cables definitely influence the sound, so the worms are uncanned and now I'm wondering if Chord Indigo, or SSA should be investigated... yet another avenue of Audio Nervosa and Cash burn!

Yes it is a bit - it was aimed at TQ who offered something different when they first started but are now just a 'me to' company rather than the people who buy the cables. Apologies to anyone i may have offended

Posted on: 11 November 2016 by Mike-B

A well aimed shot James & if it offends, so what.   Yes TQ did offer something different (although I still don't understand the secrecy bit)  but a cable with Telegartner plugs (£10 ea) & a STP cable with some fancy covers (if that is the case with this cable) & that price is taking the micky.   I'm not sure who makes the actual cable for AQ, but its a fairly normal looking STP with braid & foil overall & foil TP  (I don't think they have a pair twist rate for Cat-7 tho')  But compared to the top end Chords who do make something different & make the cable mini-coax bundles themselves.    Still think the price is taking the micky.

Well, I'm certainly not offended. People can call TQ overpriced shit for all I care. It's just that James's comment was a little surprising. Setting that aside, these posh Ethernet cables can be jolly good, it's just that it may take people a while to accept that. If people don't like the price the answer is simple...

No offence taken here. I'm a big fan of TQ cables. Overpriced......well that's down to every individual to decide. For me, their cables are no more overpriced than the rest of the gear we own. If I can't justify the price, I don't pay it. For me the TQ cables work extremely well. If they didn't, they'd go back

I recently tried the TQ ultra black cables in a Spanish omelette,  made no difference to the taste whatsoever,  very disappointed.....

lol your welcome...I have made my choice on cable and the Vertere is the clear winner

Another fan of Tellurium cables, if they are anything like the Black Diamond speaker cables I use then they will be pretty special. I also run AQ Vodka's Ethernet cables which I have found make an improvement.

As Finkfan says if you like what you hear it's for you to decide if it's value for money, to me decent cables are as important as the rest of my system.

Posted on: 12 November 2016 by Finkfan

Hi Rob. I want to hear the black diamond speaker cables in my system one day. Already use the BD din. The Silver diamonds may well be beyond my budget, especially as the price has just gone up!

Posted on: 12 November 2016 by james n

Chaps - nothing against TQ cables - i had TQ blacks when they first came out as they were the only cables that (IMHO) improved on what NACA5 did and at the time they worked very well.My comment was that TQ just seem to be doing what everyone else seems to be doing these days, which is coming out with some very highly priced Ethernet cables which don't appear to offer anything  in their engineering or construction to justify their high price.

Posted on: 12 November 2016 by Finkfan

Yeah I understand what you're saying. But I personally have no idea what goes in to making their cables. All I do know is that with every step up the range there is an improvement, to my ears. Again, whether this justifies the price tag is personal

Hi FF The Black Diamond's are a very good speaker cable, I originally used the Black's and I also tried the Ultra Black's, they almost stayed but the Diamond's just push performance up another gear. I have not had a chance to listen to the Silver Diamond's and don't want to, they are beyond my reach.  If you're ever in my neck of the woods you would be very welcome to have a listen.

Another fan of TQ, I have the ultra blacks,  very very impressive cables,  hopefully going to be having a home demo of black diamonds in next couple of weeks .....really looking forward to it...

Posted on: 12 November 2016 by Hmack

I'm also a fan of TQ cables, having TQ Ultra Black speaker cables and interconnects in my main system.

That's about as far as I want to go price-wise though, much as I'd like to try their more expensive cables.

I have to admit though, that I am a sceptic when it comes to the concept of expensive Ethernet cables, TQ or not.

Posted on: 12 November 2016 by Finkfan

Thanks Rob. Yeah at just shy of 900/m the silver diamonds are beyond me too! Unless my numbers come up tonight! Plus I really do like the neutral sound of the black range.

My exact thoughts also next year will be cat8 and cat45 it is not like speaker cables or power cables, no hifi company produce ethernet cables other jack, they all use telegathner and nothing else and what are we paying for then?
