Naim Glass Locators. Advice needed.

Posted by: Tony2011 on 17 November 2016

I just bought a extra Fraim level but the glass locators are missing. Are they really necessary or  should I invest on a a new set? £14 for two bits of plastic seems a little excessive. I don't suppose they'll make any difference sonically, will they?

Thanks.

My Fraim was second hand and had the locators. Some were chipped. I found it useful in helping to align the glass in the first instance before fine adjustments. They have stopped small slippages becoming major on a couple of occasions: a couple of careless Dyson manoeuvres and a friend's 2 year old have not ended in what might have been disaster. Not sure the insurance man would have been bothered whether or not the locators were in loco, but at least I retained use of the LP12 on each occasion!

Nigel, sounds like you need one of these:

Nahh, too short. I use a custom device consisting of the top section of a 9' trout fly rod with two round neodymium magnets Araldited onto the top ring.

Bit of pre-release marketing?

I got those plastics bits but have no idea how you're even supposed to use them.
