Naim Muso Vs. devialet phantom

considering one of these two, just wondering is Muso significant inferior to devialet phantom in terms of sound quality?
comments or experiences from both owners are highly appreciated.
thanks.

Don't know about sound quality, but having recently seen a phantom in the flesh for the first time I don't think I could bring myself to own and display something that ugly (purely my subjective opinion of course, before I'm jumped upon) no matter how good it sounded!! The Muso, on the other hand, to these jaded eyes is a thing of beauty as well as sounding pretty good.
Only remember hearing a wall of phantoms at a show, was impressive. But can't tell you which is the better one, while I suspect it's the Muso giving the typical musical qualities...
Love my mu-so Qb. But Hey, aftee all, this is a Naim Forum
I have just bought a Muso on Friday. My dealer also sells the Devialet Phantom. It is true that I had already set my sight on the Mu-So but when I asked my dealer about the Devialet - he just said it was not a match to the muso and it wasn't selling well at all to his dissatisfaction.
About the muso - you have to set your expectations right beforehand as it is in no way a match to an entry level Qute with speakers (my case). Scale, clarity and control are all there, but what I regretted most about the Muso was the narrower sound-stage. Having said that I set it up in 10 minutes and was streaming Tidal within the next 30. The simplicity and functionality of the Muso more than compensate for the small trade offs in sound quality. Mind you, it can sound big and loud whilst keeping a tight grip on dynamics given the right circumstances. To me and in my environment it does the job to perfection. As a bonus It looks great, it does not take too much space, it is exceptionally well crafted and best of all the volume control is just brilliant and hugely satisfying to use. The remote control on the other hand is definitely an after-thought (its range is around 4 meters) but as others have mentioned the app does to job as it is supposed to so no complaints at all.
If you have doubt just compare the two if you can and judge for yourself.
Cheers,
Vik
I really like the look of the phantom, would be interested in hearing one to be honest.
Listen to both and let your ears decide. Or should I say ears and eyes?
To me, the deviate phantom looks like the illegitimate son of R2D2 and a Dyson vacuum cleaner.

Yep - i suppose visually it's the choice between the Dyson and something that looks like an upmarket fan heater. I'd take the QB if i was looking for something like this.
Actually, some recent evolutionary evidence suggests a rather more complex genesis of the Phantom: a theory is being put forward of genetic convergence from the R2D2, Dyson and KS species (Fig. 1) that has led to the current hybrid incarnation of the phantom.
