What's on your Christmas wish list this year?

With Black Friday nearly upon us, cyber Monday around the corner and the advent of, well, Advent, I hope I'm not too early in asking what you are hoping/planning to get to augment your system this Yuletide? Dreams, hopes and more realistic Naim additives are all viable.
A new pair of wellies and world peace.
The Kii Threes can wait....

I was thinking more of traditional standards, such as high work ethic, don't buy what you can't afford (I.e. save for it), relationships for life etc. I know many of today's 'millenials' see us as parasitic spenders of their inheritances and taxes they don't pay, but I know which gang I'd rather belong to. Roll on 2017 and the next upgrade!
Have you considered sponsoring a millennial, it might make you feel a lot better about their plight.

I suppose it might be a different Kate Beckinsdale HH .. lady down the street maybe ?
Pair of speakers, which probably won't fit under the Christmastree unlike my B&W CM1's.
B&W 802 D3s, which arrive in the morning. Santa came early.

Congratulations, your going to have a fun weekend.
I've just been reading a review of the 802 D3, they are very highly rated, your going to be very happy....

I would be interested in our experiences. I started to leave the B&W fan-club, but today I had some really great moments with my (only) CM1's. They started clipping when the volume knob of my Supernait was for a longer period of time around 12.
How could these tiny boxes, only 28 cm tall produce such good music? I did put them in a different position, and had more bass as well.
Congrats with your 802's. Maybe I will end up there as well ultimately.
Lego 911GTR please
ATC SCM40a have been ordered in Black Satin, should be delivered and hooked up to the 272/555 before Xmas.
Since the order I've sold my 250DR, cables and speakers, so its both Musos giving sound to the house.
However a black (Friday) MOJO is providing musically enjoyment into my aging HD600s...and its doing a very good job indeed. Also works amazingly well into the cars aux input, for the hour long commute

Ardbeg10y,
Happy to give some feed back. In my other threads over the last 6 months or so (Speaker Shoot Out) you will see I have demoed about 7-8 speakers in a similar price range and similar reputations on this forum. I did get to hear the 802 D3 but with a DR'd 500 last month. That was the last trial and it made my mind up. The shops speakers were also well run in. The 802s replace a 2005 pair of 803S. After about an hour of unpacking and generally faffing around, unpacking, getting the ramp in place, removing transit screws for the mid etc., we got some music.
The weather has turned recently here in Athens and the units were very cold to touch. Even so and out of the box, the music was a quantum up from the old 803. Over the course of Saturday I got some hours in them and borrowed a pair of ears too. Lots of detail and bass grunt but also not surprisingly, not the sound I had previously heard during the demo. It was like the units were waking up at different speeds and the soundscape was not together yet. Not surprising as the mid units had only been released from the transit position for a few hours.
Today was better. I had left them playing quietly with a CD on repeat last night. I reckon it will take 100 hours or so to get there. So far I guess I have only about 16 hours on the clock. From the outset I did hear new things on familiar tracks, both vinyl and CD. Today the sound was opening up and becoming very enjoyable indeed. This is only days 1 and 2 so I expect lots more to come. I could live with the sound today, so any improvement which is inevitable, is great to ponder. No worries about making the right choice now. I refused to listen to the 800 in the shop. I am not going to go there, these are keepers now.
By the way, if your inspiration for your name was a certain malt, I can only approve. One of my top two I reckon. If not top one.
Good luck with your system building.

Bodger, stop tempting me! My Xmas wish list is already fit to bust! 802s not possible just now.![]()
This should be the last instalment of my particular speaker saga which began in earnest mid July this year. I have had the opportunity to listen to seven very different speakers but only one of these was a home trial. Long story short, I now own a shiny new pair of B&W 802 D3’s. They arrived last Saturday and are now warming nicely. The 802s replace a 2005 pair of 803S. After about an hour of unpacking and generally faffing around, unpacking, getting the ramp in place, removing transit screws for the mids etc., we got some music.

Over the course of Saturday I got some hours in them and borrowed a pair of ears too. Lots of detail and bass grunt but also not surprisingly, not the sound I had previously heard during the demo with well run in samples. Not surprising as the mid units had only been released from the transit position for a few hours.
Sunday was better. I had left them playing quietly with a CD on repeat overnight. I reckon it will take 100 hours or so to get there. From the outset I did hear new things on familiar tracks, both vinyl and CD. The sound was opening up and becoming more satisfying. This was only days 1 and 2 so lots more to come. I could live with the sound right here, so any improvement, which is inevitable, is great to ponder. Last night started with a rough patch, rather harsh for 20 minutes or so. As I had mostly been running in with very low volumes, I moved up to 12 o’clock on the pre. The music just came alive.
Some other vague observations. Listening is extremely enjoyable at background to low volumes; they deliver a very complete image even when barely audible. I guess the drivers are getting along. They appreciate being given some “welly”. It seems the louder the better. Walking over to change a CD sounded like I was getting closer to the stage. Previously I was aware that I was moving towards the left speaker. They seem to disappear behind the music – you are not aware of two boxes at all. The sound is coming from over there. This is not to say there is no image as imaging is great but it is from points in space not left or right.
No worries about making the right choice now. Thanks to all for the feedback since July. It is now a good place, to know that the itch has finally been scratched. Once they settle down more I will fiddle with final positioning. To date simply plonking them down where the old ones were seems to work just fine. I would also add finally that the finish is absolutely first class.

Apologies, posted this to the wrong thread.

Just wrote a letter to Santa-TomTom Audio for Super Lumina interconnect and already got DVD5 & CD5X for my birthday last month.

Would like to add a tuntable of some description and a stageline..see what Santa brings..
Was that a 'turntable of some transcription'? ![]()
Nothing Naim this year but upgraded the phono stage to the new Simaudio 310LP Neo & should have a new Metrum Menuet DAC in the next few days. Also simplified the second system with a NuPrime IDA-8 & Dynaudio Emit M20's.
Still got 2 weeks to go so there could be some twists and turns yet!
