Could'nt find an open thread (bottle) on this popular topic, so felt the need to uncork a new one!

Hot toddies with Jim Beam, honey and lemon juice .. absolute stinking cold.

Sorry to hear it John.
XO Taraquet Armagnac for me.
Thank you Loki, I would have suspected some mead concoction or other from you, how do you take the Armagnac, straight ? I think I have a rather nice bottle of cognac in the house somewhere.
Just back from a walk on the beach so a nice bottle of Healeys Mulled Cider
Listening to Gregory Porter on the muso qb in front of a wood fire, while enjoying a Blackdown Sussex gin & Fever Tree Mediterranean tonic with ice and a slice of cucumber.
So very, very much better than a Gordon's gin & Schweppes tonic...
An un-fined bitter from a microbrewery in Hull. Nice and sharp.

Straight, yes, brandy glass cupped in hand to warm it first and then take in the aroma before sipping. Good for cutting through catarrh!
Contrary to popular opinion we Norse gods don't just drink Mead. Frankly I can't see what the fuss is about, rather an insipid drink and waste of honey!

Absolutely! I had a Langtons Lakeland gin (Really really smooth and filtered over slate on Skiddaw) with Fevertree naturally light tonic, ice and lime. Gorgeous. I use the Mediterranean tonic exclusively with vodka. It is a particularly good match for Zubrowka, although I usually have Russian Standard Platinum. Would like to try the Blackdown though.

You should try it with a nice gin instead of Jim Beam.

For me Gordon's Special London Dry gin is still the original and best 18th C London gin. Many have tried to emulate and copy, use fancy flavourings or add sugar to mask less than perfect distilling .. every so often I sample a few boutique gins, but then return to savour a London Dry... beautiful. Sure there are better mixers out there.....

I have to agree that Gordon's takes a lot of beating. I think people assume it's some sort of bog standard product because it's sold in every pub and supermarket in Britain, but I prefer it to these fancy new varieties that keep appearing. I'm also quite partial to Plymouth gin.
Bombay Sapphire still my reference: a fan since 1991 when first espied in deepest Sussex, although it launched in 1987. Gordon's too coarse for my taste buds.
Gordon's was Hemingway's and Bond's favourite, but not Hepburn's
...and a lucrative deal with my favourite coarse Gordon (Ramsay)
Today, low alc. day. A virgin Winona: ice, slice, Fevertree naturally light tonic and grenadine. Refreshing.
Yorkshire Tea (decaff) today.
Awesome Oreo milkshake on Tuesday courtesy of Byron the 'proper burger' chain.
I find this very good for coughs and colds...

Crew Republic - Drunken Sailor
Locally (Munich) brewed IPA....a nice change from Augustiner
Old picture but same beer. A rather wonderful Porter from Nøgne Ø Brewery. One of my absolute favourite ales!
Taylor's decaffeinated Yorkshire tea.
This is a new one to me and its very good indeed, a fine New Year gift,
I needed the sun so Aperol but with fizzy water!
