Nac 172XS warming up...

Took a flyer on a preloved 172. Considered the ND5xs but didn't want to go down the rabbit hole of wondering about power supplies and I figured the better (hopefully) preamp over the 5i2 would enhance the RP6 as well.

Initial thoughts:

Super easy setup shocked me. Literally had it up and running with minimserver running in less than 5 minutes.

Streaming FLAC and internet radio light years better than the Sonos, auralic mini I've tried before.

MUCH more detail from the RP6 even through the 5i2 on Unity Gain (temporary will get amp once I sell it) Hopefully the boogie factor will come along as it warms up.

Great stuff. In my experience it's the NAP that has the big effect on driving the boogie effect with your speakers... For best sound with most if not all Naim streamers, certainly when using inbuilt DAC, try and stream WAV files.

Yes. Thank you. Forgot about that tip. Minim converting to wav now.

Ironically, I'm spending way more time listening to vinyl than streaming. I'ts a cracking good preamp.
