Congrats to Nico...Never cheered on Vettel as much as today though.

You can't knock him for liking music.......possibly a very dodgy haircut though
Well based on his tweets et al off racing, he seem more interested in making music and getting into fashion, almost as if he knew his days were numbered in the sport and he was planning his next adventures.
Dayjay, sure he's talented, and he yes he had the engine issue, but he didn't win every race, didn't set all the fastest laps either. Nico had better 'luck' and consistency and therefore won. I'm sure after 2008, Massa was also hoping Nico would get it.
Like I said, I think there is a more skilled driver, Max V, if he was in the Merc I think he would have beaten both of them. Alonso and Vettel are also capable drivers, but not in a car with the speed of a milk float. It will be interesting to see in March what the new rules do to the cars and the rebalancing of teams. Will the Mercedes era end, will Williams make a come back, or Ferrari / Red Bull. As to be honest, the ability of the car is more a key factor than the driver, as Kvyat's driving of the Red Bull in the first 4 races proved.
Rosberg is retiring!! When??

Yes ... (according to BBC and Guardian that I've looked at) immediately.
Mercedes have already been on the phone to me....but unfortunately I'm not available....
Call them back and give them my number [@mention:50422349809511500]!!
So he always had in the back of his mind that he'd 'Finish' at the end of this season. I get it now FF
So in H1 of the season Nico bumps Lewis off a few times, Merc are very diplomatic about it. Too diplomatic in Lewis' eyes. Lewis tells Merc he quits and downs tools. Merc freak and come to a gentleman's agreement with all concerned...Possibly.
I suspect he wants to go out at the top and he is not confident that he can stay at the top next season. Good luck to him, he's a great driver and won fair and square.

He read my post above and decided that he wanted to be a Finn again!!
FF
Not quite... he just wants to finish...
I'm sure we've all been in position where as a single person, the world was our oyster, then we got attached, had families, and doing things we previously wouldn't give a second thought about, now its 'I don't want to get injured or I want to see more of the family'. How many driving stars go on to cruise out their careers in less than great cars ? Best to go out on a high... so kudos for making this decision. Only thing is it will leave Mercedes scrabbling and a possible domino effect in driver moves. It will be an interesting F1 winter.
