You'll need a 4pin snaic to go back into the amp

You need a SNAIC 5 and a SNAIC 4.  The SNAIC 5 provides power to the pre section and takes signal from the pre into the Hicap.  The SNAIC 4 takes signal from the Hicap back to the Supernait power section.

I've recently added a HCDR to my SN1. 5pin snaic is supplied with the PS. 4pin will need to be purchased separately

Yes, you would. That'll be £175.

Clearly the dealer hasn't been on the Naim training course, BIG schoolboy error on their part.

But did the dealer know that Tony has a Supernait instead of a power amp? – NAP 150, 150x, 155xs, 200 and 200DR all come with a SNAIC4.

(And, although I shouldn't be saying this here, 2nd hand Naim Snaics can be found easily).

Tony, the idea is this: if you buy a power amp that can power a preamp, Naim gives you the SNAIC4 that does the job; if you add a separate PSU to your preamp, NAIM gives you the SNAIC5 that completes the job. But if you buy a Supernait, you need no SNAIC, so when you buy a PSU you add something that is not strictly necessary, and the extra SNAIC is on you..

(But if I'll buy a Supercap, I'll have to buy two SNAIC5s, because the Supercap is ideally made for the 252, which comes with the necessary Burndy. Luxury must be paid for; the necessary is given to you free of charge. Naim is an interesting form of Socialism).

All is well what ends well. If it can be of any consolation, there are Catholic priests who cannot advise you the least on your death bed, and members of Government's staff who know little about economy and rule your economic life – an audio dealer can forget a SNAIC and be forgiven.

Enjoy!

Are you saying that you bought the Supernait on Saturday and the Hicap three days later? If so, that's a rather speedy upgrade.
