Xmas has come early.....

Santa arrived early this year, with two large green and white cardboard boxes. Within nestled a new NAC282 and a used NAP250DR. These replace the Supernait 1 which I have had for about 6 years. I have very fond memories of the SN because it was responsible for rekindling my interest in HIFi after an absence of a few years, and was also a great introduction to the brave new world of streaming. Back then I was using a Mac mini and iTunes to stream to SN, making use of the built in DAC in the SN.

The NAC282/NAP250 are sounding great, the 250 already fully run in of course, and the 282 opening up nicely. Superb dynamics and overall grip on the speakers, wonderful.

Congratulations on obtaining your 282/250dr, a very nice combination of boxes..

It's a good job santa delivered early, he would have had one hell of a job getting those beauties down the chimney... ...enjoy

I think he does it with magic (or at least technology so far advance it appears indistinguishable from magic).

congrats!

i also upgraded from an SN1 to the 282/250.2 (both freshly serviced by Darran at Class A) this year and am well pleased. the combo sounds like it added another octave of bass, which combined with the added richness and punch of the Naim separates really elevated the low-volume listening that's required by my better half.

i have a Hicap 2 powering the 282, but am considering a HCDR or Supercap in the new year.

what DAC are you now using?

am using one Hicap DR to power the 282. Fed by the nDAC + XPS (non DR). Fully agree with Joe comments about lower octave and punch, low level listening is now exquisite.
