Allaes got go...

Hi all

Moved house and closest I can get allaes to a wall is 500mm. Couple that with fact wall is wallboard and you guessed it... they sound weak and insignificant.

Recommendations please for stand mounts or floorstanders to run off a SN2, CDX2 combo and give me the slam and weight back?

Ps.. room open plan (sort of) so usual HxWxD of room doesn't really give any pointers here

It would be useful to know what your budget is?

Also are you looking for new or pre-loved?

Dunno really. Whatever it takes to get the groove back. Having said that please don't bother with the "get a 500 " arguments

When I moved house, I found my DBLs to be totally eviscerated in the room I had them in. Lots of hollow spaces in the flooring and walls. I had the spaces filled with celluose, and megabass and pitch stability returned. This is not only cheaper than getting new speakers, but addresses the problem that would effect all speakers, not just the ones I happened to have. I bet if you have an adjoining room and went there while the music was playing, you would know *exactly* where the missing bass went to.

Any Dynaudio stand mount will give you the bass you're looking for, Dynaudio speakers really have a very good synergy with Naim, so depending on your budget, start with the Emit 20's, and go up from there.

S-400s or S-600s.

Massimo, you might remember from some threads that I'm an organist. My current speakers (b&w cm1's) can't show the lower octave - lets say below 50Hz. Could the S-400 handle that, or is the S-600 really needed for it?

I'm asking you this because I have the feeling that you know the instrument and have some real live experience with the Ovators. I do not really believe in the specs written in documents - therefore the question.

Quadral Chromium 8 are highly thought of.
