Burndy won't lock on NAP300

Well, I got my new stands from Cymbiosis yesterday, and spend today stripping down the system and rearranging things.  All went well, though it was hard work and took most of the day.   Fired the system up, and the 555PSDR wouldn't switch on (sigh)

Stripped down again to that level, which luckily didn't involve the NDS or 555PS as these are in a separate stack. Rectified the problem (Powerline had come a little adrift, but couldn't get at it without stripping down)

Am in the middle of reassembling the Naim bits.  Success so far with 552PS, 555PS, NAP300PS.  Stuck at level of reconnecting the NAP 300.  Burndy on Channel 2 seems to  find the connections OK, but it WON'T LOCK.  When I try to turn the locking ring, the connector tilts up, but doesn't lock.  Can't understand what (if anything) I am doing wrong, as all my other Burndy connections went in very easily (and so did this one on the first iteration before I stripped it down again)

I know all about aligning the long bit on the connector etc, and I'm doing that bit OK.

Any suggestions, or do I have to contact Cymbiosis tomorrow?

Strange. It does sound like an alignment issue. I think there are 3 locating spins on the outer edge of the burndy socket. For the cable to tilt up, it sounds like the top 2 are locating but the bottom one isn't.

Since last posting I tried swapping the leads at the NAP300 end - both plugged in easily!  But ... on trying it the other way again, failed to lock.  There are 2 locking pins, which look identical on plug and socket.  I've tried moving the locking ring to different positions before plugging in, but no joy. Think I'll swap the 2 Burndy's at both NAP300 and NAP300PS just to get me up and running (after all, they are identical!).  Very strange ...

Cables are probably not relaxed enough, so they don't line up correctly. They are a bloody pain though glad I've only got one in my system.

But I had plenty of play in the cable.  The only comment I have to make on this is that Naim seem to expect Burndy's to run laterally rather than vertically.  At least the cables seem more relaxed if you connect one end and then connect the other to something at the same height.

Me?  The NAP300 and it's powersupply are in the same rack.

I've swapped the cables round since last posting, and am now up and running.  Just need a couple of 3M HDMI leads and a 3M aerial lead to complete the new arrangement.  They should arrive tomorrow.  Then I'll see if Photobucket will let me post piccies.  Also, I underestimated how many shelves I needed, so I'll have to order another single shelf.   The good news is that I can now manage to fit in a wall turntable stand so that my LP12 will come back into play.

Haven't had a chance to listen at 'realistic' levels yet, 'cos it's "too late, dear", so I can't comment on sound quality yet.

I'll have to find a home for the now defunct Sound Organisation stands.

Had to dismantle the shelving because I'd forgotten to plug in the aerial lead, and couldn't actually reach the socket with the shelves in place (sigh).  Realised that I didn't actually need to order another shelf, just had to rearrange them!

On reassembly, I discovered that the Burndys for the NAP300/+PS now went in in the correct place with no problem, so must just have been a problem with cable stress after all.

Now have 2 Sound Organisation Z560 racks to dispose of, but can't find the assembly instructions and can't find them on the web.  Looks like I'm going to have to make up some of my own unless some kind person out there has them and would scan them and email me a PDF?
