Help please with optimal way to connect UQ2 to Supernait!

Hello all,

Am currently running x2 optical inputs into UQ2 (PC and Xbox One) and coax digital out from UQ2 to Supernait.

In the UQ2 Setup Menu - I have "Speakers" set to None.

Just looking for a sanity check here...is this the best way?

Or am I best served putting my sources directly into the Supernait?

I would have thought it was best to put your 2 other sources straight into the Supernait if it has enough digital inputs.

Yeah that's what I'd do too. Have as few links in the chain as possible.

Going via the UQ gives control via the app though, can system automation do the input switching etc if connecting the sources straight to the SN?

I think I'd also be tempted to try a cheap but decent RCA - DIN such as a flashback cable from UQ to SN (with UQ volume set to 85). Just as an experiment really. One might expect the SN to have the better DAC, but it's an older DAC implementation than the one in the UQ, and with the way DACs have improved, you never know.

Dave, good point about app control - once a couch potato....always a couch potato!

Thanks for all of the replies. I just switched the digital inputs to go directly into the Supernait. I think I was putting off doing this for two reasons:

a.) couldn't find the link to the Supernait Mk1. manual so had to root around for my physical copy.

b.) had forgotten how to re-assign the inputs on the Supernait. Had even written notes in the margin of the manual to remind me of the easy mistakes to make. Have Xbox One on AUX1 and PC on AUX 2. iRadio is assigned to TUNER which feels nicely old fashioned to me.
