Naim app 5.0

Tried the same on a I Pod Touch likewise will have to wait for the Android version??

Deleting and installing v5 did the trick. 

Definitely faster than the previous version especially finding the unitiserve. 

Also the split view works on the 9.7 Ipad Pro!!

Is this the first case of the Naim app being unusable on an old iOS? If so, perhaps Naim should perhaps put a sticky on here to warn people. It  does say 'this version requires iOS 9.3 or above' on the App Store but you have to scroll down to see it.

Nope - I used my iPod Touch for running the old Nstream app but it can't run any version of the Naim app and you can't update the iOS version on it. I'm on Android now and my only Apple device is languishing in the back of a drawer somewhere. Won't get fooled again!

I use my iPad 1st generation to control playback functions. It works fine and the old version of the app is still available.

Oh, I hadn't thought of going to the app store on the device itself, but it is indeed still available when doing so. It just automatically installs the most recent compatible version.

No 5.0, but at least the little old iPhone can resume its place on the coffee table rather than being relegated to the drawer of no return.

Exactly This way my first 1 pad still has some use - it's too slow and outdated for everything else, but makes for a fine remote control.

I miss the search butten. Please putbit on again. Srolling to the top don't work for me. It was very well to have the oportunity to use tehe search-function in the middle or end of the screen. I got more than 5.000 albums. If you stay at the bottom of the list it takes a long time to scroll to the top.

Search is on the home page. A little awkward but it is there. 

Just click on letter A and the search bar is above it. Not that difficult.

Ok, two problems: would have been happy to see more than just 20 albums under newest cd, more like under n-serve, where you can see the last 100 albums added. I tend to buy more than 20 albums before havind listened to all of them...

Login for Tidal keeps popping up, although I have cancelled the account weeks ago and I disabled Tidal on the inputs.

The A-button don't work for me. I don't use the alphabetic order. I use the order by my minimserver! So ABC ist switched off. The best way for me is getzing back the search-button. There is much place in the button-line for it.

I can't find the search on the home-button.

Also misses search-button on tidal. Why changing these things? Please give me the 4.9 back!

You will not have a search facility because you wouldn't need it if a list is only 4 items long. Bear in mind that it is not a global search, it only searches the list you are already looking at, not it's sub-folders - which, in my view, makes it largely useless unless you have forgotten the alphabet!

Loving the Tidal link to Artists other work. this is such a cool addition.

Another problem I noticed today: cannot click to change 'rooms' at the top. And I have 4 Naim streamers which get used throughout the day. 

So - if Moderators are reading: please sort this messy app. It is a pitty it was released.

I had this problem initially. Do you see the name of your current "room" above the streamer icon. If so, you tap on the room name and you should see a new screen with your rooms showing as large tiles allowing you to switch from one to another.

Otherwise go to settings > other settings to check that the room name field is present.

Adam,  did you delete the old app before installing the new one ???  then when installing the new app go to the screen with "Select Rooms" for set up 

I only have one "Room" but when I tap the top banner "NDX" it opens the "Room"   I also helped set up someone this afternoon with NDX & Muso,  tapping the top banner brings up changing rooms & it works for him

All sorted now - thanks guys.

The app was an automatic update and it freaked out during the first use. Did the normal thing (close, reload) and it's all OK now.

On my iPhone I click the home, top left, then click the magnifying glass. Top right. Tidal search.

A couple of trivial things for me..

Internet radio presets are spaced out way too much which means more scrolling and also has a pointless 'Internet Radio' subtext (no shit sherlock).

Also, to access the list of radio stations, you need to tap the iRadio icon now.

Why cant Naim put a little 'how to' guide up here whenever they change things?

On the Tidal link, every page shows "No results" even when there ARE results also being shown. Also, it only shows one of two playlists, and that with only one song in it...

Also "My music - albums" shows an albums list as it stood several edits ago. What the actual eff? Can I get 4.9 back please?

Me too getting back to 4.9! There to much changes in the wrong way for new features I can not use. For example the tidal sugestion under the record you choose is interessting but works only for one artist. I tag my records with multipple artists. So most of the records I have on my server don't work with this feature. For me it would work for albumartist because minimserver can only handle one albumartist for one record. My tagging is a little bit oversized I know and spezial. But for classical music and jazz it is important which artists, orchestra, choir, conductor and/or composer is part of the record. So I would be happy when the app could show me all the taggs I made in a list. Simple to make. Why doesen't it implemented? And if possible with a link to searches for every artist, orchestra etc. in it. And what about Qubuz? When will it work with the Naim App? For me Qobuz is much better than tidal.
