When  streaming the music from Tidal then the covers are high res, album covers from NAS are poor quality.

Bert ??  where's he gone ??? !!!!  - assuming you have the latest DMS-6 revision,   .....  do not change the Device from XMBC,  it must be this profile & it will default back to this as soon as you exit the MS menu.    The required change to get hi-res art is in the Profile column,   change the Profile from Default Profile to Default Profile With Original Cover.

Regarding cover art quality, I've noticed reduced quality on Synology/Minim compared to Unitiserve. The Synology is a backup of CD rips on the US. It may have been like this for a while, but I haven't noticed it until now.

Hi Mike,  have done -  according your instructions and it seems to work fine now. Bert, you need to save settings, refresh and reset the app.

Mike, once again thanks for your help!

Not this issue ChrisSU,  this is really low-res art, it started when we began the last round of two platform beta tests,  I found it on the first rev & reported it.  Not sure what/if Naim/Apple can do,  but the fix is as per above.

Mike, Kacper,

YES that's it indeed! Apparently an issue when using Synology NAS for Naim.

Opened in Synology DSM the Media Server>DMA Compatibilty > somewhere below I found the Device list and in there device XMBC. Changed the profile from XMBC  to Default Profile With Original Cover, restarted the app and indeed, cover-art is shown in HighRes. Phew!

Mike you are a hero! How can normal mortals ever find such details? I hope the guys will resolve this bug in v5.2

Bert - Naim forum is not a normal mortals' natural habitat.

Indeed!  Only nerds like us can endlessly argue about 282 versus 252, cables X-Y-Z, show off with system pics, believe that bits flow more smoothly through expensive Cat cables.....  Bunch of lunatics we are

The fix described above only works if you have a Nas as your server. What about the US...does it also have the same problem?

I'm away for the holidays so can't check on my system.

Posted on: 22 December 2016 by Mike-B

I don't think so CSI,  I might be wrong but I believe the issue is with Synology's DMA.    During beta testing we did not hear the same problem from QNAP & NASReady users,  or for that matter Synology users with Minimserver.  So ree-lax & enjoy your time away & the holidays.

I have no such artwork definition problems with my trusty US. Must only occur with a NAS attached.

Relax and enjoy your holiday!

Well 3 dropouts from Tidal for me this morning suggest 5.1 hasn't fixed the problem.

The app is just a control point really so I think unfortunately you will need to keep waiting for the long-awaited streamer firmware update to deal with the Tidal dropouts.

best

This update has mucked up the album art (wrong album art with certain albums) and the app crashes when trying to view playlists.

Wrong album art: did you try to clear the upnp cache of the app?

Posted on: 23 December 2016 by Reinibert

5.1: Still no search button on top of the upnp list :-(

Also no button for listing all tags.

In iradio the flags beside the country seems to be missing in the by location menu. Small thing I know but annoying… iRadio is after all the main feature I use the app for.

Thank you Gert - I did indeed - that and resetting the app

First of all, a big thank you to Naim and the beta testing team for this new release.  I started with 5.1, so missed out on some of the "fun".  Working well so far, and I do like how "other albums" from Tidal has been integrated into the "playing now" screen.

Only two minor issues so far. One was the need to delete the Naim app before the App Store allowed me to download 5.1 - no big deal though.  The second is a bit more bothersome. When I pause or stop a listening session for a while, and then come back to it, my ability to switch sources goes haywire. For example, last listen was UPnP. After a break, I go to the home screen and select Tidal. Tidal main page appears briefly and disappears.  Then I am right back at UPnP.

The fix is easy enough - quitting and restarting the app works most of the time. Once or twice I had to quit/restart a couple of times to get it to switch sources.

Other than that, it seems faster than 4.9, and works quite well for me.

ATB.

Question, not only related to the latest version: via the iPad, I've put my mu-so on repeat - you can find the repeat and shuffle buttons in the app - but I don't see these in my iPhone app (iPhone 5S with latest software)...

Any thoughts on this one?

+1. I used that a lot to find music. The search bar on the home screen seems to be searching Tidal only.

Just pull the screen down and you'll find the filter box, which works perfectly.

Ive been getting a funky problem with iRadio on the 5.1 app.  The stream is playing, but I get a generic icon that doesn't identify the the station after the iPhone has been off for a while.  The 'stop stream' button doesn't work; the music keeps going!  And if I try to pick a different source (such as upnp or TV), it just jumps back to iRadio.  I have to shut it off at the NDS or Qute2 (happens to both).
