Problem with my "new" NAP200

Posted by: Vynz100 on 18 December 2016

Hello everybody,

Everything to my joy to have a NAC122X / NAP200 set, I want to test it ... and there the NAC122X does not turn on! I try again, I go back to my seller who graciously provides me with another cable, but still nothing ... the NAP200 lights up, "crac" usual in the speakers, but the NAC does not shake, nothing turns on. I check remote control and cie, nothing.

When I look at the NAP's 4 pin socket, I realize that the small metal end of "-ve" hole is not visible ... it would probably be the cause of all this ... how to remedy ? I do not know what I will do with the seller (well noted and who responds quickly to messages), or if changing this socket is complicated and expensive ... and I have no music! !! Thank you in advance for your advice!

Photos of yr troubled 4-pin DIN might help you with getting feedback. I could not help noticing that Naim and Linn owners are very reluctant in opening their babies (heck, I am the only one posting photos of Lingo on the 'net!)

Just to double check: when you look at the back of your 122...
The left 4-pin should have a link plug fitted and you connect your NAP200 to the right socket with a 4-pin SNAIC (NAP200 supplies the power to the NAC in this configuration).

Yes, it's plugged. I don't have any flat cap or hicap.

Could members please be mindful of forum rules.  Thank you.

You have two options; Take it to your nearest Naim dealer who can investigate what the problem is and remedy. Or, return the item to the seller.  Any other option likely falls outside this forum's AUP.

Yes, thanks. I'll bring it to a Naim dealer in my city...
