As some one else said, God's best PR on earth. A man I only met on the radio but would have loved to have invited for dinner. May he travel with laughter and joy.

My wife has lost another of her Jewish heroes; first Leonard Cohen, now Rabbi Blue. The first UK Rabbi to publically declare his homosexuality I believe, but defined by a lot more than that.

I know she always enjoyed his avuncular and wise contributions on Radio 4 etc. Her (orthodox) parents were also enraged by him, which may have endeared him a little more to her.

His death is a sad loss. My wife spent 10 weeks convalescing after a car accident in the early 90s. Her daily highlight was listening to Rabbi Blue on 'Thought for the Day' on Radio 4. Marvellous man.
