Chord Shawline 5 pin din to 5 pin din
Posted by: tonycurran1 on 21 December 2016
I have been offered a chord shawline to try between my naim dac and supernait 2 instead of Snaics
anyone tried this cable
regards Tony.
Hi Tony,
Certainly worth trying. I would have expected the differences to be subtle, and whether an improvement a matter of performance preference.
Good luck
Lindsay
As a point of order, you can't put a SNAIC between a Naim DAC and a SN2.
You need an interconnect NOT a SNAIC. A SNAIC5 won't fit as the SNAIC5 DIN plug is 270° whereas the interconnect DIN plug is 180°.
Well according to the Chord website, the Shawline series includes a 'complimentary speaker cable'....thanks very much...I will take a 5m pair if they throw in free shipping. BTW, third party Snaics exist but discussion is verboten, since they may contain potential amp and speaker damaging 24V, and not just signal-and hence fall under a power supply mod category.

I couldn't see that, but then I'm dyslexic, so word search games are a nightmare for me
.
Perhaps someone should tell them they should be using 'complementary' instead of 'complimentary'! ![]()
Since hotlinks are not allowed...there is a cut and paste about these wonderful free Shawline speaker cables that even Norbert Colon would spring for.
Shawline Range
The Shawline range features our latest Tuned ARAY technology and comprises RCA, DIN and XLR analogue interconnects, RCA, BNC and USB digital interconnects and a complimentary speaker cable.

Well as Chord have stated in writing '…complimentary speaker cable.', surely we are within our rights to demand free speaker cables! ![]()
Well, maybe the first person that brought the erratum to their attention should be awarded a 5m pair. <cough> With bananas please.
OK Ron, if there is only one set of freebies going then I guess they should be yours as you spotted the spelling mistake.
Can't blame a chap for trying though. ![]()
What I don't understand is why you would request fruit with your free speaker cables. ![]()

I do believe this is an invitation to treat rather than an enforcable contract
... but I could be wrong ![]()

Yes, that would be an interconnect NOT a SNAIC!

Looking at Tony's profile and previous posts he looks to be new to Naim and let's face it, often complex cable connections. So his misconception of what is a SNAIC vs an interconnect is forgivable.
Hope I don't sound condescending, don't mean to be. ![]()
