Come Dancing - a readily likable keyboard driven song with a nice big band swing.

While I enjoy the early Kinks garage sound, especially their singles, the relatively high production 'State Of Confusion' is my favorite Kinks album. Come Dancing has entertaining lyrics and I always get a kick out of the lines:

"In the hallway, in anticipation
He didn't know the night would end up in frustration
He'd end up blowing all his wages for the week
All for a cuddle and a peck on the cheek"

I was 16 we'd just moved to California and a more knowledgable cousin was passing thru.  The TV was on and the Kinks were going to sing Lola, my mother's name...  When it was thru mom said I don't think I like that one. It flew right over my head but I dug the groove in the song. After college I was in a men's bar and 2 "women" came thru in pastel chiffon gowns.  Slowly working their way around the bar WHO do you think they ended up next to? A friend took me out of there I was so frozen with fear and panic.  It's the only Kink album I have and remember getting an earlier copy decades ago.
