iRadio on MusoQB

Posted by: Cdb on 24 December 2016

I've had my Muso for several months and it has been fine apart from the occasional dropout but over the last couple of days the radio signal has been constantly on and off - on for a couple of minutes then it drops out for 30 seconds, connects again for a few seconds, drops out, etc ad nauseam...It works fine with Apple Airplay from my MacBook.

It's on my wifi network with a BT external connection, which has had no changes that I am aware of. I have done a factory reset but it's just the same. Any suggestions would be very welcome.

Thanks
Clive

It sounds as though the internet connection isn't spot on.

I'd try rebooting your router as a first step.

on my QB, I had a similar issue which upon further investigation was due to the QB having connected to my "ext" wireless access point, which wasn't as good a signal as the the access point I originally connected it to.

I simply renamed the preferred wifi access point and connected the QB to that wifi connection and have had no problems since.

I should add that if a table lamp or cordless phone is close to your router/wifi or QB, try moving it away from those items as that can cause interference.

Thanks - I did reset the router but it didn't help. But I had recently moved the cordless phone base nearer the router - repositioned and it now seems OK - many thanks for your advice, Blythe. Amazing it's so sensitive.

The cordless frequencies are fairly close to Wifi (not very close but close enough) and I suspect what was happening here was that the receiver either in your Qb or more probably your router was being blocked/desensitised by the interfering signal. By moving your cordless base station away, you reduced the blocking and everything could work again.
