HDX - Naim logo colour change...

Hello to anyone reading this!

I am a SCI/Tetraplegia C4/5 (Paralysed from my chest down - have to use wrist splints and a middle finger splint on each hand to enable me to use keyboard etc) and approximately 18 months ago purchased a HDX player; because of my physical scenario and with the use of specialist signal sending equipment, for the first time in nearly 27 years I can now fully interact with my entire CD collection (currently around 1,600).

I must say it has been fantastic (putting it VERY mildly!), both from the obvious interaction part and most importantly the musical performance side of things; getting to the point ("finally" you're probably thinking!), although having nothing to do with the physical performance I wondered if anyone else with a HDX has had the Naim (green) logo change colour at all?... mine has faded into what I can only describe as a yellow ish colour.

It went back to Naim through my Hi-Fi dealer and they changed it; a very short while on it 'yellowed' again. Have any of you had this happen to them?; I have heard that the logo's can bleed and have the bulb/s changed, but I do not think this is the same. Obviously this is only aesthetic, but as I have other Naim units it would be nicer to have them the same etc.

ANY advice/suggestions will be much appreciated.

Is it the same shade as the illuminated buttons on the HDX ? Perhaps with the addition of a more green thing such as a Christmas tree the green might seem less green.

Glad to read you can use your whole CD collection. A hearfelt - well done!

Back to your question: I've never heard of a logo changing colours. There is a small LED behind the actual logo - perhaps that's the faulty component?

The logo colour should not affect the way your HDX performs. Although I can understand it's mildly annoying to say the least

Thanks Adam, although as said, it has been changed etc - that's why I find it strange for it to go to the yellow again so soon.

FWIW my XPSdr was a slightly yellowish tint from day one out fo the box. Still green but not close to the others 6 boxes. I think there are minor variations depending on batches and stuff, though you've described it starting off green and then chaning color which seems odd. Still, half my Naim boxes turned black to purple.

Thanks for the info'; strange indeed, my XPS (had about 5 months ago) is the classic Naim green I know/am used to.

Several years ago the buttons on my NAT05 acquired a yellow hue. My dealer changed them and they've been OK since. Don't remember the logo being affected.

More recently several of my boxes suffered from the dreaded bleed. The colour was unaffected though. Changed FOC by Naim.

The colour of the Naim illuminated logos and buttons can appear yellowish due to the ambient lighting in the room. Natural sunlight doesn't affect them.

For info the logo is illuminated by several green LED cells (8 I think).

If you're not happy I'd speak to your dealer or Naim direct.

The HDX is a great piece of kit, and their is no reason why the light should go yellow, their must be a fault, its something that would really anoy me, I suggest back to the dealer for repair ...

When my new HD was fitted in my HDX  I think they all replaced 'a bleeding' logo at the same time. Also the display on my uniti is now so dim ad to be almost unreadable. Struggle to understand why either issue should occur. My Sony clock radio had been on for just about every day for over 30 years now without a problem!!
