Streamer not responding MU-So and QB

Hello all

I have had a mu-so for two years. Have been able to pre programme radio stations when first purchased and use spotify and as sound bar . On the phone the app has bever really functioned and cannot access all the normal info/options.  tried to sort out again last week and got  'streamer not responding'.

My wife has bought me/us a Mu-SoQB for Christmas (massive surprise) and I have the same problem. QB works ok with spotify and white light is on at the back but no operation of the app (either on apple phone , android tablet and apple tablet) - continues message of 'streamer not responding'. The hub is  BT Home Hub Type 3.

 

The two units are in different rooms.  I am at a complete loss and have little knowledge of some of the technical issues discussed in the forum. any help appreciated.

Gerry, I recommend using a later BT Homehub...should then work. The Homehub 3 is old and long in the tooth now and I seem to remember has had issues with local multicast used for device discovery on your home network.

In the meantime, bearing in mind that it will take a few days at least to get BT to swap out the HH3, you could try turning the router and the two musos off, restart the HH3 and wait until it has completely finished then restart the musos. You might restart the app too. The iPhone app is better than the android one. The app works well with the musos so it should find them.

You need a good strong wifi signal of course. All of your musos and iPhone must be on the same wifi network, but I imagine that is the case.

I agree with Simon, HH3 was the one we had the most trouble with.

Many thanks for your replies.

I will first shut everything down and restart (as well as order new Hub) and see how it goes - when i can find a spot when the children aren't using it!

Going to bed last night i realised I had prob left the most important bit of info out ! we are out in the sticks a bit and the signal is not great although it does run spotify, radio stations on mu-so, PS4 internet access for gaming and netflix etc so hopefully will be enough.
