adding to the aye's - upgraded to a 250Dr this year after owning a 200 for a good while, significant improvement in every area.

I have to agree with the majority here too .. I swapped a 200 for a 250DR earlier this year, sight unseen, no demo.  Excellent choice. I thought I was getting the best out of my Totem Hawks until I strapped them to the 250DR .. magnificent response.

Looks like its almost unanimous

I too upgraded from 200 to 250DR with improvements as all described.

I am not entirely convinced the 250.2 and 250DR are a little  different - but academic as you can only get the 250DR now - but either way its certainly a step forward from the 200 with the higher end preamps starting with the 282

I found I preferred the 282/200 - after I was tempted to 'upgrade' to a 250.2 to drive S400. Although it offers more heft it is a bit less nimble and transparent imho. The DR offers the transparency and speed of the 200 & the heft of the 250.2 ...plus a whole lot more...ime&ho!

On the 250DR, I upgraded from a NAP200. The difference wasn't subtle, this was with an NDX, 282, HICAP DR. 

I wouldn't want to go back, good though the 200 is, the 250 is just so much better.

My 250DR is sounding so good I am struggling to get any paperwork done this evening.

My experience with the 250dr concurs with most on this thread, it is an exceptional box that provides an enormous step up... superb with a cdx2 or 272

Nobody is suggesting that you can directly swap one for the other. An old 200 and £3,000 might do it.

I bought a mint used 250.2 from Cymbiosis to drive the atc scm11s. Then I sent it to Salisbury for full service and dr

considerable improvement. And a cost effective staged upgrade too
