Naim CD5XS won't play CD's

Hello. Oh Dear I just went to play my CD5Xs and the CD--tried many--the Disc just goes tic tic tic and no sound--as I live in a remote area with no Tech handy I thought to ask you good

folk here if you may have a solution as to cause /fix?-- is it the Laser maybe--the ser# is 288 so should be Ok there--no?

It may be the laser. Maybe not. However, laser is the most likely thing to fail - that's the nature of them unfortunately. If you have checked the usual things and it's not reading then Best to take to your Naim dealer and have it checked out.

Could be as simple as the pause button was accidently pressed, check to see you didn't press the pause on the remote by accident.

Serial numbers, or the age, are never a definite indication in what may be a failure.  Transports can die at anytime, some go many years, others can fail quite early. Personally I would contact Naim and send the unit in for repair.

Thank you Bad!-- Hmm --nope that seems to be in order--it still tic tics with Pause button on/off--now off.

Hi Guys, Well no joy the CD5 XS will have to go for service --the unit is in Neath Port Talbot Wales-- whom would you good folk recommend to have a look  at the Unit?

also anyone have an idea of replacement laser cost for the Player Ser# 287XXX please? (seems as if this is the problem)

Any recommendations close to send ?

I know it's not gonna help you but my cd5si also died today. And it was fresh out of the box yestersday. Maybe I got one of those units with issues? Anyway I'm back with Naim after some sideways   moves. This will not stop me
