Ripping problem

Posted by: al9315 on 31 December 2016

Got two Rod Stewart CDs my other half likes, and I cannot rip them ??

I use dbPoweramp and have ripped over 600 CDs without too many issues over last few months.

Does pass 1 & 2  then " RE-rip 173 frames" or 70 or 90..........................

This happens with every track on both discs ???

Is there any way to get these two discs copied please ?

Thanks

Al

Most likely copy protected.    there are numbers of ways around it, search www,  but I've used the dBpoweramp "Defective by Design" ripping mode & it worked OK.     It was a while back but I think it does not give you either one or maybe both of Secure Rip & Accurate Rip

The often suggested solution is to copy the discs to CD-Rom, in whatever lossless format you prefer, then try ripping those instead.

It's worked for me in the past.

I've occasionally found that iTunes can rip a CD that other rippers don't like. In that case I think they were copy protected with DRM ot something.

This particular problem sounds as though it is caused by a damaged or very dirty CD, rather than by copy protection of some sort. It,s a problem that I have encountered occasionally, and can sometimes be resolved by thoroughly cleaning the disc.

The other way to resolve this is to go into the options tab and select 'burst' option (without error correction). This should work, although it is normally best to rip in 'secure' mode.

Thanks very much for all the suggestions - sure it is not dirty disks, have cleaned them, plus the same happens on two different disk drives.

I am sure the problem is something to do with the copyright.

I am currently trying to re-rip using different options in dbPoweramp

Thanks again

Spare yourself the pain, have a bash at copying to CD - Rom, in your choice of lossless format, then ripping that, always works here.
