iPod or iPhone which one better on nDAC?

After a few years I purchased my nDAC but rarely used it and now I though of using it connect to iPod or iPhone for digital files playback. Anyone try compare the above? Is it convenient to use the iPod or iPhone to do the playback? I have the HDX before connected to the nDAC, and now the HDX move to my another setup at my another house. I have the CD555 for serious listening, just though of iPhone or iPod will do the job by playing as background music? Thanks and Happy New Year to all HiFi-Naim mates hare......

I have used the Naim DAC this way with my old 80GB iPod 5G and it seems to work well - certainly more than good enough for a bit of background music.  These days though the iPod lives in the car most all of the time - having tried out many DAPs, the old iPod with its lovely scroll wheel is still the easiest to use in the car, I find.

I mounted the i-pod touch plug/cable in a plinth and connected the USB into the rear socket of the NDAC.

If i want to use the i-pod for casual music I just drop it into the plinth/plug. Works fine and the SQ is more than acceptable for casual listenig. As well a stored music on the  i-pod I also use it to wirelessly stream internet radio from my router.

Don't forget the NDAC  can be set to charge the i-pod/i-phone while connected. This can be switched off for better SQ according to the manual. I think it's done by pressing/toggling the DOCK button. Check the manual to be sure.

Yes, I just went through the manual also. Will try when I back home, still traveling.

If you haven't already, check you have the latest firmware update 4.11.8. It gives an enhanced SQ performance.

Yes. IPad into nDac after firmware update is better by a country mile than it was before.
