SuperNait DAC + Cambridge CXC CD Transport w/Coax

Posted by: Joshua Huang on 09 January 2017

Just bought a brand new Cambridge Audio CXC CD Transport and connect it to my SuperNait using a less than 10 dollar Coaxial RCA digital cable bought from Amazon, the result is quite pleasant. And I then switched to a toslink cable made by DH Labs, not sure why, I feel I like the Coaxial one better.

Hi,

it's very probably a form of synesthesia like many others that affect the audiophile, but I too think that coaxial cables 'sound' better than optical ones: it must be the fact that we 'know' that one has metal conductors and the other plastic or glass. If you are in doubt, I'd say that either you try to have a blind demo with the help of a friend, and choose what is 'better' without knowing about it, or you just give up to synesthesia and like the coaxial more without thinking about it..

P.S. I have had a Supernait twice, and I was very happy with its DAC. If you ever stumble into a Stereovox HDVX digital coax for a few tenths, buy it.

Best
