moving albums from one category to another on dtc?

Hi,

In my collection of albums ripped to my ns01 I have 19 albums placed in the unassigned category, obviously because there is no information about the album, so everything title, and tracknames are unknown. But there are also a few albums  that has all the regular information, but are put in the unassigned category anyway.

Is there a way to move these albums into the category where they actually belong.

There are albums placed in other categories where they should never has been placed.

I have played around with the bulk cd db lookup under system functions on the tools tab, but I am not at all sure what I am doing with the different option in that dialog.

A final question Some albums that the  online databases do not know about, are  known by other bases, mostly gracenet used by Apple. Is there a way to export data from other bases into the bases used by dTC, instead of manually typing the data in.

IIRC, the current version of the DTC doesn't have that functionality. Only via the Flash interface this is possible...

Claus,

It is possible to move albums from one genre to another on dtc, and even edit genre names.

Afaik, it is not possible to export meta data from other bases.

Michel,

what is possible via Flash interface? exporting data from other bases? I think not. I think you refer to the question in the title. This can be done in DTC as well. I did not know it as it is not mentioned in the DTC user manual, but found out on this thread!

I meant that changing the genre for ripped discs from e.g. "rock" to "blues" was only possible via the web interface. As far as I know, you cannot do this with the DTC application. I wonder how you do this...

To change the genre of an album: "With albums showing in the right pane, drag the album to the required genre in the left pane."

To create new genres: "In the left pane, right click on genre  and select new."

To rename genre: either on left or right pane, right click on that genre and select rename.

I am also curious why the DTC user manual does not even mention these functionalities.

That's new to me, works really nice! However, I only use the DTC to change cover art though ...

So, that means you are on mac! I wonder when a mac version of DTC will be available.

Or, are you more happy with the web interface? Both need some improvement in my opinion.

I'm using an iPad2 as primary control. Works very fine IMHO!

Well this is one of a few situations where the current dTC is not keyboard and therefore Screen reader friendly, unfortunately drag and drup has also been used in the internet radio to add stations to presets. The webinterface is not something to work with, dTC and the App is the way to control Naim streaming units, at least for screen reader users.
