Ovator S400 amp

300dr. Made my S400s come alive

250Dr controls my S400s well, with great finesse. It compliments the S400s very well with its speed on transients, so music is very vibrant and rhythmical.

I have a mullet. My SN does a pretty reasonable job with my S600s, but I have a hankerin' for a 300DR.

552 / 300DR here. A friend uses a 552DR / 500DR which doesn't seem to be overkill. The 400s respond well to the best electronics.

252 into NAP 250DR here. Sounds good

135s.   Tried Superuniti, and 52/ Olive 250 and 52 135s.    135s won pretty easily.

Supernait 2. Works well with my S400s.

SN2 then 200 and now 250DR...All good but 250DR a clear step up.

Currently 172/200 but thinking 272/xps/300. A 272/250 also makes sense.

I could go some cables anytime, how big was the sl upgrade? I have naca 5 currently,  but no practical way to audition sl

The SLs are part of a full loom but with just the  the speaker cables in place the difference at least to me was obvious - tighter bass  and greater clarity across the board. Although looking at another post I could have saved money with lawnmower cable. But I don't like orange and couldn't cut the grass! In the past some have reported good results with 2.5mm mains twin and earth too...

I would probably go SL I/C first before speakers. Wouldn't you?

I'm using a XS with non-Naim PSU and largely happy with result but know there's more there to be unlocked, looking forward to see how they would respond to Uniti Nova.   I'd like the 272/250 but realistically I'm never going to spend that much.  However has anyone tried non-naim amplification with S400's and got good results?

Using a  252/300/ SC with SL. For my 600s  Sublime.

Very very happy with my 250DR into S400s.

552DR/300 here. The 400s sound great to my ears, so not in any rush to DR the 300.

SN2 & Hi-Cap DR do love my cherry S400's 

200 here. Only had this kit for 18 months or so, so avoiding the upgrade bug for now. Love them by the way.

The S400 is a wonderful 'speaker. I much prefer it to the S600 I had first.
