Remote control setup?

I have recently bought a 2nd hand nac 152 xs and the remote control does not work to control it. However it does work with changing the volume on my naim n-sub so the remote control itself does not seem to be broken. I checked with the guy I bought the 152 from and he swears that the control has worked for him. My question is if you can program naims remote controls to work with different units and wonder if I by accident have happened to deprogram it and how can I solve this?

Which remote model is it? Is it set to preamp mode. Assuming it has a preamp button press it and then try using the preamp functions. It may be set to tuner,cd or some other source.

Just looked at the NAIM web site. Go to NAC152XS and download the manual. It explains the remote functions.

IIRC the n-Sub remote is unique to that unit - a tiny little remote control, similar in look to the original i-com that came with the early i series.  Do you have a picture?

Here's a picture from the 'net of a NAC152xs with its remote control (Narcom).

Great, thanks - mission completed! I must have pushed the sub-button on the remote, but I now pushed the button pre and it works! :-)
