How to post a picture
Posted by: Granted on 30 January 2017
Could somebody please tell me in plain English (no technical jargon please) how to take and post a picture of my system in this forum. Thanks
Hi Granted,
If you have followed Chrissu's link above, you will now appreciate that you need to :-
- Take a digital photo of your system (or convert a film photo to digital format)
- Load that digital photo onto a hosting website such as Photo-Bucket or Flickr (I use Flickr)
- Copy your photo from the hosting web-site to your "post" on this forum
If you have successfully followed the details in the link - fine. If not, let us know which of the three stages above you are at, and we can try to take you through the other steps one at a time.
It takes a bit of effort first time, but afterwards it's usually a doddle !

I right click on the picture in the www host service & 'copy image address', open the Naim/Hoopla post top banner picture icon & insert (paste) that copied address in 'source' window. That works also if a picture is 'borrowed' from a www site that might have some restrictions.
Mike, If I follow your instructions, (using the picture icon - 2nd left from the imoge symbol) I get a symbol that looks like a torn piece of paper which evaporates when I post. It appears above this paragraph as I type, but disappears when I post.
If I click and paste in the symbol < > (far right) in the Naim/Hoopla top banner I get the picture below :-
I'm not sure I follow what your instructions are Don, they don't fit in with what I see (using the picture icon - 2nd left from the imoge symbol)
When I try your click and paste in the symbol < > (far right) ......... that just adds the pic address .......... http://i806.photobucket.com/al...54-1_zpsqz2h9kwq.jpg
I use the 'Insert/edit image' icon (2nd left from 'Graemlins') right click picture 'copy image address' see pic .............. or I can also just copy the image & drop as a paste on the Hoopla 'Add Reply' however I'm not sure this is normal & I might get that with the beta tester function
Hi Mike,
My first post only had 3 fundamental "Stages" - Take a Digital Picture: Put it on a Picture-Hosting website: Transfer it to a Naim/Hoopla post (such as this).
This was simply to find out whereabouts Granted was at - not much point giving step-by-step instructions to post here if he doesn't have the ability to create a digital picture !
As for Step No 3..................."Transfer it to a Naim/Hoopla post"
The Hoopla banner above has 17 options/symbols. The 8th from the left "inset/edit image" looks like a postcard picture of a mountain. The 17th (far right) "Source Code" looks like two opposing arrowheads < >
I understand that you click on the 8th symbol and copy your picture "Code" into a window entitled "Source" then click "OK" and hey-presto.....your picture appears in your post.
This doesn't work for me. When I do that, all I get is a small icon in my post that looks like a piece of torn paper. But even that disappears when I "Post Reply"
What I have to do is click on the 17th symbol < > and "Paste" my picture "Code" into a large box that is titled "Source code" then click "OK". my picture then appears in my post. Its looks like this process doesn't work for you.
Perhaps "Granted" will find that one or other of our methods works for him ! (with a bit of luck)
BTW. Nice picture Mike.
