how much difference a does a service make?

my NAP 250 is about 15 years old and I wondered how much difference a service actually makes and the cost.

I have had 3 amps serviced and all sounded as new. XPS refurbished and same results. My 82 was recapped and I could not ascertain any change. However worth it for piece of mind. Very pricey in the US but worth it imo.

If you don't service the amp there is a risk of it going caput and taking the speakers with it. Oh, it will sound miles better too. If in the UK send it to Class A in Sheffield.

Being a regulated amplifier I would consider Naim recommendation of 8-10 year service intervals to be pretty much mandatory on the NAP250.  You've done OK to get to 15 years but I bet it's not doing it like it used to.  I think you'll be really surprised (in a good way) at what a proper factory spec service will do to rejuvenate your 250.

As for cost, you should get an estimate from Naim or via your dealer.

its definitely not what it used to be.I have recently purchased a nac 82 and a CDX and thought it might be sensible to service.Dont think my vinyl is sounding as good anymore.
