iPhone Naim App problem

Posted by: Zipperheadbanjo on 07 February 2017

Here's a weird problem... I am unable to get my NDX or Unitilite to play a track over upnp using the Naim app on my phone. When I try, I get an error on the streamer display that says "Can't Play / track skipped".

When I use the streamer remote, selected songs play without issue. When I use the Naim app on my iPad, songs play without issue. So it's clearly not a upnp issue, or a network problem.

I've tried shutting down my iPhone, trashing and reinstalling the app, and updating to the latest iOS. Nothing works.

Any suggestions?

Sounds like the wireless hub has its wires crossed;  assuming its all set to DHCP,  turn everything off & leave it for a few minutes to ake sure the ISP knows the hub is off.  Then restart the wireless hub first & let it complete its process, (then the switch (if you have one)) then NAS & let it finish, then the Naim(s) then the iOS(s)     But remember it won't be good if both iOS's are awake at the same time.

Yes a strange one if your iPad works.. it would appear the address and reference (URI) of the media files to play the iPhone app is giving to the streamer are not valid ... I assume you have only one media server? If not check the iPad and iPhone are referencing the same... and as Mike  says try power cycling  the wifi router and powercycling the NAS (assuming that is where your media server is)

Thanks for the feedback. I'll try powering down the router when I get home... should have thought of that :-)
