Naim muso - iOS App enhancements
Posted by: me.oprinz on 12 February 2017
Hello Naim-users,
i am recently a proud member of a Naim Muso. Best! I am very happy.
I have some ideas on how the app would be better:
- a widget for ios (enable/disable muso, louder/quiter, silence on/of), switch entrance - important!
- change the radio apps via drag & drop (change order by moving)
- a global search or a search with an country, ... for radio stations by name
The most import is a volume normalizer. If a have digital, bluetooth, airplay - if i switch the volume has always changed manually. What i mean, is, that i can say in % (- or +) on how the volume will be changed (for the other entrances), if i switch. i come from radio to digital (which is quieter), so it has to increase x% automatically. if i switch back it should not go. there is need of some kind of history. i want that the volume of all entrances is nearly the same. this should be possible.
one more question: is it normal, that muso don't wake up on optical cable? airplay works. newest firmware 1.5.

You can turn on and off the Muso already using the app, as well as volume (quieter and louder) but I'm not sure about "mute" (silence on or off)
By "switch entrance" do you mean "switch input"?
If so, this is already achieved using the app.
I haven't used the optical cable with my Muso.
Radio station search by country is already with us via the app. I am currently in Australia and have easily found UK BBC Radio stations using the global search.
Unfortunately, a volume normalizer can kill dynamics in music, so I doubt Naim would make this available.
Sorry. I know, what is possible. Don't argue against my improvements!!!
i ask of them, because they make sense & optimize look & feel with the muso.

Calm down fighter, I think you are trying to be helped rather than ridiculed!!

My 272 has input trim, i.e. the 'volume normaliser' so you can get everything sounding the same volume, which I find really useful. I think it would be really helpful to add the facility to the Muso. I'd also like to be able to turn off unused inputs, which keeps the app screen nice and tidy. I see only three inputs on the 272 but loads on the Qb, of which only three are used.

And that's my point, there is a (polite) way of asking, which you are completely missing!
I am also bored of the guys, who have to comment with nonsense of netiquette - who are seem like they are The Police ...
so again to the Topic. Any ideas how to improve our Look & feel...

+1 for the input trim, and for removing unused inputs.
Having said that itt would be useful to have an option for volume leveling on a playlist, so that one don't have to adjust too much up and down during parties. Obviously, turn the party option off during serious listening sessions.
PS Almost afraid of posting ....
Right little fighter this one!!!
This thread delivers.
He's coming back, quick, someone lock the door for all our sakes!!

The OP clearly believes there should be more features that are already included, and if you've given a reasonable answer to the OP you shouldn't have. All help has to be exactly as the OP would like, or lambasting will follow...
SO perhaps the OP could clarify just what he or she would like as a response to her/his post?
I believed I was answering the post in a civil, sensible way, addressing some of the original posters questions and/or comments.
I'm sorry that he (or she) took my replies to be somehow sarcastic or an argument, which was most certainly not my intention.
me.oprinz I find your response to me to be be extremely rude.

Ah, I see what you mean - having relative adjustment between inputs - so that one isn't hugely louder than another for example.
Quite different to what I had imagined to be track normalisation between for example, albums playing from the same source.
Other creative new ideas? Not talking about the old stuff?
Maybe, if multi-room. Different loudness of all speakers on one App Window. Mute one
Some kind of recording feature to a NAS storage.
Equalizer: modify frequencies separate
Widget: Not only, on / off, mute, louder/quieter, change entrance also switch through music channels, multi room on / off
More ideas to improve the look & feel?
