Core / Composer & genre empty. Album & artist OK.

Hello,

my Core fails to recognise/display composer & genre.

1000+ Disks imported from my NAS plus a couple CDs freshly ripped with the Core itself.  All the same misbehaviour. Artist & album are OK.

Triple checked Metadata (on the Mac and the NAS plus the Core) with Metadatics – all information is there all set/transferred correctly to the Core. It's just the app that does not display the entries at all....

Naim App it 5.4 and v1.2.5798 are both up-to-date.

Any help/advice appreciated.

Best, Lorenz

The new Uniti range seems a bit immature at this point. The decision to delay shipments of the Nova, Atom and Star was probably very wise. Perhaps Naim should have done the same with the Core. Shipping a software that is obviously incomplete or defective is certainly not acceptable. That said, buying products which are thrown at the market with much fanfare (music collections reimagined!) but without any detailed technical specifications is not compulsory. Naim has an excellent technical support. Just be patient and give them time to sort out the problems. They have done a mistake and you have done a mistake. From this point on, things can only improve.

Hi Lorenz,

Is this with an existing music store from a Naim Music Server that you have imported into the Core, an existing music store that you are scanning as a share or music that has been downloaded / ripped from elsewhere?

Cheers

Hi Phil,

1) Copy from Mac to QNAP using SynchronizePro. Twonky, Asset, Minimserver serve the files just fine to the Naim app (or the 272 using front panel or remote navigation).

2) Import the Music from QNAP to Core using the import music option within the App.

Metadata is intact on Mac, QNAP or Core when reading out meta data using Matadatics or any other meta data editor on file level.

The Core doe note read out Genre/Composer.

Cheers, Lorenz

Hi Lorenz,

Could you get an album or two to me by DropBox / OneDrive / GoogleDrive etc. that we can take a look at? Drop us an email to support@naimaudio.com and we'll progress it with you...

Cheers

Phil
