turntable cables

like many i've picked up a turntable again... so the cables dont hang 2+ feet down the wall to the phono stage and nait xs I was going to pop them in plastic trunking

Can the low voltage cable going to the turntable motor and the screened signal lead be close together??

thanks!

Yes indeed - it's power cables with their alternating current and resultant magnetic field which are detrimental to low level source signals.

i use mini trunking for my turntable leads too.

My gut feeling is to keep the cables apart. Even more if your table has an AC motor, for the reasons mentioned by Fred above. If you want to run them close together, try to shield the power cable. It may help, but can make things worse. Trust your ears.
