names of naim

has the terms like nac, nap, nds, ndx, nait a specific meaning and forwhat they stands?
Naim Audio Control (preamps), Naim Audio Power (power amps ), Naim Digital Streamer, Naim Audio InTegrated. ...the X is a little less intuitive. ..it is usually applied where there is extended performance over a predecessor. .I think the Flatcap 2X was the first example. ..the XS probably have similar connotations. But that doesn't really explain the HDX. ..although the Hard Drive bit is easy enough. Sometimes a Name is just a naim.

An X in the name usually implies hat the product can be upgraded with an X - eternal power supply.

Nah.... the first 'X' was the CDX in 1998 or 99. So named as the previous two midprice integrateds were the CDI (CD Integrated) (not CD1) and the confusingly named CD2.... then the more budget CD3 came along so Naim decided to avoid further confusion with the CDX (I suspect). The NDX was perceived as the Network equivalent.
Excuse me, I'm popping off to listen to my Rega system....:-)
