Using my Nait XS with a DSPeaker AntiMode

Posted by: Bubbamike on 21 February 2017

Does anyone use a processor with their Naim? I was thinking of buying a DSPeaker Antimode for room connection to use with my NaitXS and was looking for suggestion on how to set it up. I know I could use a 5 pin DIN to 4 RCAs cablesbut I'm unclear how this would work out and where to plug the processor in.

I suppose another way would be to place the process in between the Naim and my high cap so it would be XS->DSPeaker->hicap->XS but I'd think I'd have to have special cables built for this.

Any suggestions?

Sorry didn't see this till the 'bump'.

I sort of do...

I use a miniDSP 2x4 connected between a 272 (sub out connections) and a sub.  The main connection (signal to my main speakers) goes strait 272 to 300(DR).

This way the main LF, mid and HF signals go straight through uninterrupted, but the drive to the sub (lower LF only) is corrected for room resonances.  This gives the best of both worlds: flattening of the room resonance modes (+/-2.5dB below 500Hz), without any change to the delicate mid and HF signals that are important for conveying nuances and emotion in the music.

Previously I used to do the same with an Nait XS 2 using its pre-out connections.
