Acoustica HiFi Show 2017

Posted by: NaimAudio on 02 March 2017

We are very pleased to be exhibiting at the annual Acoustica Hi-Fi Show again in 2017.  Taking place between the 11th - 12th March, the show is based at the Doubletree by Hilton, just off junction 12 of the M53.

We will be exhibiting across three rooms this year with fantastic setups in each:

Naim Room 1
A 500 series system comprised of two 555 PS DR power supplies, NAC S1 Statement preamplifier and NAP 500 DR power amplifier with an NDS streamer served by Uniti Core.  The system will be paired with Focal Sopra No.3 loudspeakers.

Naim Room 2
This space will feature a Classic series system with a HiCap DR and XPS DR, powering a NAC 282 preamplifier and NAP 250 DR power amplifier with an NDX served by Uniti Core.  The system will be paired with Focal Sopra N.1 loudspeakers.

Naim Room 3
Room 3 will be dedicate to Uniti, featuring all three players - Uniti Atom, Uniti Star and Uniti Nova, served by Uniti Core and paired with Focal Aria 906 loudspeakers. This is where you can experience our new state-of-the-art Uniti range in situ, our most advanced all-in-one streaming platform.

Show hours are 10am - 5pm on Saturday and 10am - 4pm on Sunday, admission is free-of-charge.

Anyone else planning a visit?

Have a visit to West Kirby planned for the Saturday so might pop in on Sunday on my way back home rather than my usual route via Liverpool.

It's good to see that the Uniti range will finally be paired with appropriate speakers, which should enable people to get a much better impression of their capability.

Wouldn't miss it !

Apart from taking a look at the new Naim stuff, I'm interested to see what Kudos and Dynaudio will be showing. And of course those folks at Chord always seem to pull something strange out of the bag... strange as in seeming to defy the laws of physics.

Oh and then there's that rather attractive lady who's there every year demonstrating.... (bugger, I've forgotten who she works for)

Yes, I'll be there for the first time - I'm always away at work when it's on. Good to support Geoff and Pete who have been excellent with me over the years.

I would like to go but my wife is away that weekend - so depends if I think I can trust the teenagers on heir own

Yes, don't know which day yet.

The "big" system with the Sopra 3s should be great - certainly sounded good in the factory dem room when the 3 was launched.  Also the Unitis with price aligned speakers will be very interesting.

Hopefully T-707 too (or something else).

Its always a good show - some decent rooms (as in, physically), nice atmosphere, not too busy and free.

Bring them along!

I will be there, Accoustica are one of my local(ish) dealers.  Will probably take Mrs Dayjay and my son and nip into Chester for something to eat after.

I'll be heading along, probably on the Sunday. Really looking forward to seeing and hearing the new Uniti range and of course the Statement Pre too. Well, all three Naim rooms really! Russell K speakers too of course. Last years visit was really rushed, so hope to spend a little more time in each dem.

I will be there on the Sunday. Kudos 707 will be interesting.

A little bird has told me that Naim are 'actively' working with Kudos and there might be something on demo at the Acoutica show. Only a rumour, no certainty.

He-he, same rumour as last year

Let's hope its true this year, as that would be great news.

Focal Aria 906!

Modest speaker at 650 euro are appropriate with the  Uniti Nova that will cost over 5.000 euro!!!!

I don't know that Focal but seem unappealing in photo

Also nice to see a Classic series set up on show NDX/XPSDR/282/HICAPDR/250DR If I ever got all my ducks in a row and had a couple of successful years this would be how my system might look except maybe ND5XS/HUGO purely for financial reasons instead of NDX/XPSDR and possibly a Supercap 1 instead of Hicap DR.

Black boxes (+ silver Melco) out in force to drive the 707's actively

Posted on: 10 March 2017 by sunbeamgls

So are those mono Snaxos in the half width cases? Naim blessed or Kudos's own work?

This is a great step foward if we're seeing Naim active crossovers for third party speakers again. Really looking forward to hearing this tomorrow!

The top left hand box looks like a Snaxo - the half width box next to it is probably a Hi-Cap. A lot of boxes to make music !

Roll on the 606.

........and how many cable? I can understand why you looked at a minimalist one box solution.

I hope they're all Super Lumina or Music.  Just to make sure the combined cost of cables exceeds the price of the speakers

A good show at Chester again today.  Enjoyed both the Dynaudio rooms, but the stand out was the Naim SNAXO active system with the T-707s.  Stunning.

Posted on: 12 March 2017 by dayjay

Some good systems on display yesterday.  The Statement pre system was very impressive, if I hadn't already bought some vinyl I'd have ordered one and even Mrs DayJay was very impressed but my favourite room was the large Dynaudio speakers which were really nice to listen too.  The Roksan deck also sounded very nice indeed, just a pity that they were playing jazz on it.

Really enjoyable show as usual. Couldn't really enjoy the Statement system due to the music they were playing. The T-707's sounded pretty amazing, I was very impressed. Both Dynaudio rooms were really good as well... particularly the Contour 30's.
