202/200 and NAPSC quick question

Posted by: PTCM on 03 March 2017

Quick question on 202/200 NAPSC connection.

I connected the NAPSC to upgrade1 and using a 4-PIN to connect 200 power amp to "standard.

I have no link plug. So left "Output &PSU" and 'Upgrade 2" as is.

After turning it on, the mute button keep flashing.  Can someone please tell me what's wrong ?   Do I need a link plug or something ?, which I do not have

many thanks in advance.

The connections are correct but yes unfortunately you'll need a 5pin link plug in the 'upgrade 2' socket for this configuration to work. available from naim dealers, I got mine by post from analogue seduction.

Thanks Fueller.  I found a link plug and put it into "upgrade 2." Sound was on very loud but the volume control light on 202 is off and I can't turn volume down.  any idea why ?

thanks.

It sounds like the AV input is set to Unity Gain. Just switch it bank to normal - instructions in the manual.

I am trying to figure out how I can find 50/50 balanced point by using the "bal" buttons on an original 202 remote.  Is there any easy way to pinpoint the middle point other than arbitrarily guessing ?

I did connect NDX to 202 thru automation function.  Is the balance function available on Naim app?

many thanks.

The manual explains how the balance control centre point can be read from the volume control LED.

Try reading this as it might help answer most of your questions !

Found and thanks James.

""bal (3 & 4) Adjusts the channel balance. Some
Naim amplifiers have control of channel
balance available only from the remote
handset. On these products the balance
will automatically centre as it reaches
the mid point. Centring is indicated by a
flashing volume control indicator. To resume
adjustment once the balance has centred,
the bal key must be released and re-
pressed."
