135 connection to supercap

Posted by: Sounsfaber on 20 March 2017

Hi,I'm  having a bit of trouble trying to get my channels correct.

My 135's are from 88 as far as I know they are the last CB's (dressed in olive now)

Standing from the back, I have the bottom 135 as the right hand channel the red cord into the right side XLR plug (looking from the back) and that goes up to SC far right din, on second from the bottom level of my rack is the other 135, that has the green cord coming from the left side XLR which heads up to the din just to the left of the other channel (right) of the SC then off to the 52.

The problem is when I turn the balance on the 52 to the right (looking from the front) the volume goes to the left and the opposite when rotated to left.

the only way I can get the balance to work correctly is to change the speaker cables over which really doesn't help my OCD.

i have new mono XLR  cable's and the 52/SC  just come back from a service. It was doing this before the service but It didn't bother me at the time as I'm not so smart and should of got Chris to look at it my bad. Now it bothers the hell out of me after the service. The boxes are 2000 models and are my dream kit.

the Nac52 had a balance pot replaced a while  back (not by our local agent) do you think they may of cocked that up, or am I just a numnut???

I do have awesome support over here I just don't want to bother them when I can do a bit of trouble shooting first

where am I going wrong please help.

thanks

Green band = CH1 (left), Red band = CH2 (Right).  But...  have you connected into the correct Cannon XLR input on each NAP135?  It's different depending on which channel each NAP135 is being used.  If you are looking at the rear panel of a NAP135 then the left XLR socket is for CH1, and the right XLR socket for CH2.

Here's a picture I found on the 'net from a dealer site to show you in more detail:

As always Richard your a life saver. I've just had a (another) case of brain fade. A good friend of my came over and pointed out that it's set up fine! I have been getting confused due to the direction/ position of my rack. Man I feel like a goose, apologies.

well I've just got to sit back and enjoy Mr Murphy's service magic.

sorry to trouble you...

now to find some SL2's. Which happen today but I'm told by my wife I must lose 10kg's of body mass before that's going to happen.
