Latest iPad app keeps losing connection

Posted by: Jota on 21 March 2017

So, as in the title.  This used to happen infrequently and one of the main solutions was to restart either the UQ2 or my router.  Since I updated to the latest app however, it loses connection loads of times a day (10's - dozens) and all it takes to reconnect is closing the app and reopening it.  Does this suggest an issue with the app itself or am I missing something?

iOS app version 5.5 build 505401

Streamer version 4.3

Yes, I think I have the same problem, but haven't had a chance to use it over a long period yet. And it was working so well before. I have no idea why an update was needed?

Please update your streamer firmware to 4.4 and iOS to the latest version.

Then delete the app completely and re-install it from the App store.

There is not a find rooms problem with the app unless a network defect is present.  Adams suggestion (above) is good.  I would also suspect your wireless hub (so called router) might have its links in a twist,  it may even be the wi-hub defect (what hub is it). If thats the case its best to run a system reboot,  but it needs to be done in the right order.   All off - wait 5mins .........  Turn on wireless hub & let it completely finish its start sequence.  Turn on NAS & let it finish,  turn  on UQ & make sure it can see all its inputs,  then the app.      Then a good idea to delete & reinstall the app to go through & establish the Find Rooms feature.

So just now it's done it.  I'm listening to Radio Paradise with the logo there and band/song info etc, then it loses connection - 'Finding rooms' then there's the screen that shows my UQ2 and a thing saying Streamer not responding.  Try again.  Click Try again and it connects.

Why the need for the latest streamer version?  If the app was working perfectly well, does it not work so well with an older streamer version if there's a new app version?

May I add that this didn't work for me until I did a power cycle restart of the IPad before reinstalling the App

If I do that I lose all saved stations and playlists. Streamer firmware is up to date. I have cycled the ipad, and so far this has helped.

That is correct - new firmware unfortunately requires new radio settings.
