Nac 72 and Nap 100 - can they be used together?

Hi, I have had a Nap 100 for a while on a Linn Pre-amp but I have just acquired a Nac 72 which i hope to swap to. But i have a 4 pin SNAIC cable and the link plug in the 'hi-cap' socket but I still have not audio.

Can the Nac 72 be run without a Hi-Cap?

Can the Nac 72 and Nap 100 be used together?

You'd need a Hicap as the 100 cannot power a preamp.

If you want to stick with the 72 you could consider swapping the 100 for an olive 140, which will power it happily. Then later you could add an olive Hicap. There is something rather nice about having everything from the same era.
